The Center for Entrepreneurship and the Southside St. Joseph Development Corporation joined together to host a series of Small Business Workshops throughout the month of October.

“The attendance has been amazing,” said Martha Clark, project manager for the Southside Development Corporation. “We are very pleased with the turnout and great business ideas.”

The events include free workshops for small-business owners and an open-spaces tour that showcased properties in St. Joseph’s Southside. The workshops were held every Wednesday in October from 6:30-8 p.m. at the InterServ Community Center, 5400 King Hill Ave.

Topics included Seven Steps to Starting a Business, How to Write a Business Plan, How to Write a Marketing Plan, Social Media Tools, Business Legal Issues and QuickBooks. The open-spaces tour took place on October 2.

“These workshops were designed to cover a variety of topics relevant to entrepreneurs. Whether they have a brick-and-mortar store, if they’re online, if they want to start a business or if they already own an existing business, we’re here for them,” said Annette Weeks, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship.
