The annual Small Business Summit will be held Wednesday, Nov. 1, on the campus of Missouri Western State University. Presented by St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce and the Craig School of Business, the Small Business Summit features speakers, workshops and resources designed to foster the growth and success of area businesses.

This year’s luncheon keynote speaker is Jennifer Bertrand, who won HGTV’s “Design Star” competition, with her no-nonsense, accessible approach to design. After taking the competition by storm, Bertrand moved on to host her own show, “Paint Over! with Jennifer Bertrand.” Bertrand currently owns a design studio in Kansas City. She will share her entrepreneurial story about how this busy mom juggled TV, a small business and family.

The day is kicked off with Cup of Joe.  It is a simple way to engage entrepreneurs.  Two presenters are showcased who prepare a 10-minute educational presentation and engage in 15 minutes of feedback and questioning afterwards. Entrepreneurs gain insightful feedback while connecting with a supportive community that cares about their progress. There is no fee to attend Cup of Joe.
