The Center for Entrepreneurship recently hosted a Grow with Google workshop. Entrepreneurs learned about digital strategies and networked with other entrepreneurs. Bryan Caplan, a Google representative, led the workshop about the different features business owners can utilize.
The workshop covered best practices for creating a free Google My Business account and improving website visibility in Google’s organic search results. Caplan also introduced entrepreneurs to various helpful tools such as Google Analytics and Google Trends.
“For business owners, the internet is so important and Google is a large part of that,” said Annette Weeks, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship. “Whether a business is advertising online, selling online or needs a digital presence, Google is a critical part of their business success.”
“[Google] is a big black box for many small-business owners,” Caplan said. “I want to show them how the Googlebot works, how Google My Business can help them create a presence online and how they can use Google Ads.”
“It’s an extremely important part of running your business. Your online presence is just as important as your storefront. That online presence is huge,” he said.
