The Center for Entrepreneurship recently hosted an Entrepreneurship Ecosystem gathering that included the Center’s advisory council members, partner agencies and local government leaders. The purpose was to highlight the city’s entrepreneurial ecosystem — the local network of supporters and entities that help fulfill the aspirations of small-business owners.
The gathering allowed elected officials and partner agencies to learn about the various services and programs that are in place to support entrepreneurs in our area. Each member shared updates, and the group discussed gaps and opportunities that still exist.
“If you don’t have that entrepreneurial spirit, it’s difficult for you to go out and succeed,” said Missouri Western State University President Matt Wilson.
“Over the last several years, we have built a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem to foster growth and support our entrepreneurs. We could not do this without the support of our partner agencies, the community and local government. Together, we have made real progress in the area of small-business growth,” said Annette Weeks, director of the Center for Entrepreneurship.
