The Black Student Union at Missouri Western hosted “So You Want To Be Your Own Boss?” on March 9 to encourage student entrepreneurship. The workshop offered a seminar and panel discussion for future entrepreneurs who were curious about starting their businesses. Annette Weeks from the Center for Entrepreneurship was one of the guest speakers, sharing how the department can be of service.

The workshop  also showcased existing student entrepreneurs and their businesses in various industries including food, jewelry and cosmetics. Al’Eysha Byrd, secretary of the Black Student Union, started POSH in June 2020, selling trendy jewelry and accessories for men and women.

“As always, it is wonderful to see these young entrepreneurs who are so passionate about their businesses,” said Annette.
