The Applied Business Ownership class is in full swing. The students are studying an Auntie Anne’s franchise and preparing their business plans in anticipation of presenting their plans to a panel of judges and the opportunity to be awarded a franchise.

Throughout the semester, students have learned from dynamic alumni entrepreneurs, including Wayne Chatham, Zack Workman and Seth Lyons and local entrepreneurs Dave Shinneman and Don Tolly. The group has also been hands-on in the local Auntie Anne’s in East Hills Shopping Center. A host of previous franchise winners have participated in classroom and in-store sessions. Guest speakers with a specific focus such as legal and human resources, along with faculty, round out the curriculum.

The program culminates with the competition on April 15, 2020 and the announcement of the winner at the annual Celebration of Entrepreneurs May 29, 2020.
